DESCRIPTION
Capture unique photography from Kauai's North Shore.  This workshop's mission is to capture the mysterious "mushroom" waves of Kauai's North Shore as well as other unique sunset and sunrise compositions from  northern Kauai.There will also be opportunities for extreme compression compositions, where I will make a 600mm and 800mm prime lens available for you to rent and use.These "mini-workshops" are intended to be an add-on to your existing vacation travel in Kauai.  The workshops will occur during sunrise ~430-630am, and late afternoon past sunset, ~330-730pm.  The middle of each day is free for you, with the exception of a post-processing class on the last day.

WORKSHOP 1: Sept 17-19, 2019 (3 morning session attempts, 3 wave/sunset/magic light session attempts, 1 post-processing class).  Maximum of 6 students.
WORKSHOP 2: Sept 21-23, 2019 (3 morning session attempts, 3 wave/sunset/magic light session attempts, 1 post-processing class).  Maximum of 6 students.
Both workshops are identical in content.  Signing up for both workshops is intended for students that wish to improve their chances of good weather.

COST (INTRODUCTORY PRICING)
Each workshop is $559; however, if you sign up for both workshops, the combined cost is $899 (a savings of $219).
Workshop cost includes coached sessions (shared among up to 6 students) and one post-processing class per workshop.  Workshop cost does not include food, lodging, and travel.  Shuttles to the target sites are included.
The cost to rent the 600mm or 800mm lens is $40 per session; however, I only have one of each, so you need to contact me to reserve it for a first-come-first-serve basis.  Each lens is manual and can be adapted to current Sony, Nikon, and Canon mounts...please let me know which mount you have.  Each lens rental will include the lens, adapter, gimbal head and tripod.  Changing out the lens during a session is not allowed (you are commited to that lens for the session.)

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Due to the high cost of cancellation, there are no refunds if weather cancels an individual photo session attempt.  If severe weather cancels ALL days within a workshop AND the makeup day, all fees minus the deposit will be refunded.  The makeup day happens ONLY if all of the workshop days are rained out.
The ONLY scenario where there is a FULL refund (including deposit) is if a severe storm (e.g. hurricane) is forecasted a week prior to the workshop, or if road conditions prevent us from reaching the target areas. 

Any refund will ONLY cover workshop fees (it will not cover your cost to travel and stay in Kauai, your time off from work, etc.)  If you have low tolerance for the financial risks related to potential cancellations caused by you (family emergencies, etc.), I highly recommend that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance ("CFAR, Cancel For Any Reason") and/or Trip Interruption Insurance.Ken Fong Photo Journeys is under no circumstances responsible for any travel and lodging costs associated with you and your family, as well as costs associated with taking time off from work.

IMPORTANT MINIMUM PARTICIPATION NOTE
A minimum of 7 signups is needed by June 21, 2019 for this workshop to happen. DO NOT BOOK YOUR TIME OFF AND TRAVEL UNTIL THIS WORKSHOP HAS A GREEN LIGHT. If there are not enough signups by January 21, 2019, deposits will be refunded.

PREREQUISITES (RECOMMENDED)
1) Ability to operate a camera comfortably in MANUAL mode
2) Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
3) Your own camera gear including:   
   a DSLR or mirrorless camera   
   a 16-35mm ultra-wide zoom lens
   a 100-400mm zoom lens (largest aperture 4.5-5.6) or 70-200mm (largest aperture f4)     
   a sturdy tripod
4) A notebook PC with Adobe CC (Lightroom and Photoshop) installed. Do not use Photoshop Elements or any "light" version of Photoshop.
5) All participants must also sign a liability release prior to participation.
